If you are like most computer users, you have
experienced those annoying free pop-up ads that no one seems to enjoy.
They are all over the place. My friends are constantly asking me what
is the best way to get rid of pop-up ads. For most people it can be
quite a challenge to control or remove pop up ads. Removing them
completely can be very difficult, but you can control them much easier.
When it comes to surfing the internet, there are few things that are
more of a nuisance than Pop-up ads and slow loading web pages. While
you cannot as much control the slow loading web pages, you can control
the pop-ups. You should not let them control you.
For the more
casual internet surfer or user, one of the most beneficial things you
can do is not to accept and download software programs (hereafter
referred to as downloads) that you don’t need immediately. You might be
surprised at what is hidden in some of the downloads, and especially
the free ones. If you think a particular download might be of interest
later, simply make a note of where and how you found it and download it
only when you need it.
Most computer users probably will never be
able to completely stop pop-up ads because software engineers are
constantly finding more sophisticated ways to use them. One of the
reasons is simply that they have proven to be very effective.
If
you are someone who has used a computer for sometime, or who is willing
to take the time to learn how to more effectively use the different
setting for your operating system and browser (such as Internet
Explorer and Mozilla Firefox), you can make your experience using and
surfing the internet a lot more pleasurable. Learning to do this will
usually require time that most are not prepared to give. Most of us
don’t have the patience. I’m certain you have heard the term “instant
gratification.” If most of us can’t get results in a relatively short
period of time, most of us will usually discontinue pursuit or find a
way to do without.
Let’s just review what you can do to make your surfing or internet experience more enjoyable.
1)
If you are not going to use downloads or a software program in the very
near future don’t download or install the software until needed.
2)
Once you have installed new software, check to make certain that the
default settings work best for your specific application or needs.
Minor adjustments of default settings can often make a tremendous
difference in the performance and usability of the software.
3)
Take a little time occasionally to learn how to set your operating
system and browser software settings to more benefit you. This will be
more gradual and will come with experience.
4) Those who would
rather the quick fix or instant gratification, purchase and install a
good software program that is designed to eliminate or block pop up
ads. There are some pop up ad blocking and pop up ad eliminating
software programs that are very effective. If you install any type of
software, it is imperative that you keep it updated. As the software
engineers are constantly changing their pop-up ad technology, the
software engineers combating the pop-up ads have to periodically change
their software for it to stay current and be effective. That is why you
should update your anti pop-up ad software when the updates are
available.
The most ideal and effective application for ridding
those annoying pop ups is a three prong approach. Using the settings of
your operating system, browser and anti pop up ads software will
provide the most complete and effective means of assuring you will have
a pleasant internet surfing experience.
